A moment of honesty…
My original intention was to write a very jolly “Welcome to 2018!” blog post during the first week of January. However, as the new year rolled in, I simply could not muster the energy or desire to do it.
My introverted side got the better of me over the holidays.
I spent my two-week holiday surrounded by visiting family members. This meant extra kids, extra noise, and absolutely no extra time for me to really wind down from 2017.
Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love having family around. I got to chit-chat with my sister-in-law and talk about future business ideas, my husband got to spend time with his brother, and my kids got to spend endless hours playing with their cousins. That part was AMAZEBALLS!
However, not having any me time or really any time to quietly get a little bit of work done in my at-home office took a bit of a toll on me.
This is one of the nuances of working from home and having a workspace that is also used for personal living.
But (and this is important), one of the advantages of working from home for myself is that I was able to make the executive decision to take an extra week off after my holiday visitors returned home, my kids were back in school, and my hubby went back to work.
I was able to take that extra week to gather my thoughts, map out a plan for what the hell I really want my business to look like in 2018, and quite frankly, to indulge my introversion by watching Netflix alone and stuffing my face full of snacks.
I'm practicing gratitude for the fact that I have this luxury at all–because I am well aware that not everyone does.
Now, I'm back up and at it, ready to take on 2018 with a simple, streamlined, and more efficient plan for growing my business.
My main goal for 2018 is to simplify life/biz and part of simplification for me is actually being more me—a semi-sane mama, a nagging wife in recovery, a woman exploring her spirituality, a businesswoman still trying to figure things out, and a quirky gal who enjoys laughter and making people laugh.
You can expect my emails, blog posts, and even my videos to now show more personal details of my life, possible mom/wife rants, more income opportunities, and just a general infusion of my personality.
I'm also on a mission to drastically increase the number of people that I am able to help generate additional income from home this year.
Even if you have a day job that you love, my guess is that if you are on my email list, you have a desire to either create more income or at least tickle your creative juices with a money-making side gig.
My job is to share those opportunities with you and teach you what's been working for me.
